At the Sonshine Child Development Center, our staff are highly trained and experienced in Early Childhood Education, providing your child with a variety of early learning opportunities to foster creativity and school readiness.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
The purpose of the Sonshine Child Development Center is to extend the ministry of and help accomplish the purposes of Tri-Cities Baptist Church by providing care, education, and development opportunities in a Christian atmosphere where each child can reach his or her greatest potential and by providing a program of ministry and outreach to the families of the children enrolled.
PHILOSOPHY
We believe that each child is a unique individual. We are sensitive to a child's spiritual, social, emotional, and physical needs. We provide developmentally appropriate programs that focus on the process of learning and help children enjoy the experiences.
We believe that learning is a sequential process and that children grow and develop at their own rate. Children learn by actively participating. When provided a variety of materials, appropriate for his/her level of development, the child is able to learn skills necessary by hands on interactions, without pressure.
We believe that the strength of our program is in the dedication of our teaching staff. Our teachers create a caring, loving, and nurturing atmosphere and mold each child's creativity and positive self-image.
We believe that children deserve to be children. Our program is designed to develop in children a sense of independence and responsibility.
We believe parents are the most significant adults in a child's life. We strive to create mutual respect between parents and teachers; a partnership for the benefit of the child.
RECREATION
Children who attend Sonshine Child Development Center will have the opportunity each day to play on our playground or in our full-size gym facility we call the ROC (Recreational Outreach Center). Whether it's rain or shine -- they have a place to stretch, run and play!
SNACKS AND HOT LUNCHES
We serve the children snacks and hot lunches daily from our commercial kitchen. They are served a morning snack, nutritional lunch, and afternoon snack each day. The menu is revised each month to accommodate changes in the weather and special menu items to reinforce the curriclum are added each month as well. To download a copy of our menu click here.
